Interior of the ancient Royal Abbey of Hautecombe, located on the shore of the Lake of Bourget in what is today the French province of Savoie (Savoy). The Abbey, constructed in medieval times, was restored after the French Revolution by a member of the Savoy dynasty, King Charles Felix, whose statue and chapel are found within the Abbey. Many members of the Savoy dynasty from the XIth to the XIIIth centuries are interred here. It also is the final resting place of the last King of Italy, King Humbert who died in 1983 and his wife Queen Maria Jose who died in 2001.
